salmon and steelhead and
also possess scenic beauty

Our Fishing guides service
is home based on
the bank of the Trinity
river in Douglas City,
California and at Steelhead Lodge
during June, September and
October during peak fishing on the Klamath river. With our
central location we are a
short drive to all parts
of the Trinity River, Smith river, Klamath river
and the
south fork of the Trinity
river in Hyampon. So,
wherever the fish are
biting we will be
there...one day on the
Trinity and then change to
the Smith the next day
it gives us more options
at putting more fish in
the boat.
Our season starts in
January on the Trinity or
Smith rivers for steelhead
we will fish for these
through March. These are
great fighting fish as
they make jump after jump
when they are hooked and
peel line as they make
runs down the rivers.
April and May we are
striper fishing on the
Sacramento river this is a
great trip to hook a lot
of fish. June is the
beginning of the spring
run of king salmon on the
Trinity and the Klamath
river these fish are the
best eating salmon of the
whole year they bolt up
the rivers to there
spawning areas on the
Klamath and Trinity rivers
This spring run usually
last till the beginning of
August. The fall run of
King salmon start to show
around mid August at the
mouth of the Klamath and
last through October this
is one of the best runs of
fish any where. You can
land up to 30 fish a day
when the bite is on. The
fish get bigger later into
October and 40 and 50 lbs
fish are caught every
year. Around the middle of
October we switch back to
the Trinity river and
continue to land these big
 salmon into November. We
also start to target
steelhead during October
on the Klamath and Trinity
rivers the Eel river
usually does not get going
till December.
In order to make you trip
as successful as possible
we schedule our trips to
coincide with the various
runs of fish as they
migrate up the Trinity,
Smith, Klamath, and Eel
rivers to spawn. Our services
are designed to meet the
needs of the expert
fisherman and the novice,
along with everyone
in-between. You may choose to fish by any
discipline that you wish,
with your equipment or mine. Whether you
wish to try your hand at
fly fishing, pulling plugs
or chasing a trophy salmon
or steelhead on light
tackle in one of the
Northern California rivers, I've got you
covered. I take a
lot of pride in putting my
