Current Report: Trinity River, Smith river.

We fished the Trinity today. We had two boats out and we both caught 4 steelhead . The weather was cold with snow and a light drizzle of rain at times. I think the colder weather has slowed down the fishing a bit and the upper river is really low and clear. There is some rain forecast for the next few days and the fishing should pick right back up. The Smith is at 7.8 feet it should start to rise for the next few days the fishing over there should be really good during this storm and the coming weeks.    Thanks Tim King

Current Report: Trinity River, Smith river.

Pretty darn good fishing on the Smith for this early in December. The river has been in great shape the last few days. The color was good making the fishing a little easier. We have been catching a nice combination of hatchery fish and wild ones. The picture below is of a nice wild hen caught by Chris Johnson on his first steelhead trip on the Smith. The river is now clear and about 8.2 feet on the gauge its makes it easy to find them in these conditions they are all congregated in the fast water. The boat pressure is still pretty light there was 3 or 4 of us that put in at the forks this Morning. Over on the Trinity the fishing is also good with the last big storm more fresh fish have pushed up river  to some of the upper sections. We will be heading that way and fishing there over the weekend. Thanks Tim King

Current Report: Trinity River, Smith river.

The Smith is in great shape . There are some nice early run steelhead being caught. We rolled bait on all the runs today and we ended up going 2 for 4. The Trinity is also fishing pretty good and both rivers should continue to get better as we head in to prime steelhead season. Thanks Tim King

Current Report: Trinity River, Smith river.

We have been fishing on the lower Trinity. The river is in great shape with a nice shade of green to it and the height is perfect. We landed around 12 fish today 6 adults and 6 half pounders. The adults are a little on the small side and are all hatchery fish. We fished on a rising river which makes for a tougher bite hopefully things will pick up in a day or two.   Thanks Tim King

Current Report: Trinity River, Smith river.

There are a few steelhead being caught on the Smith. Side drifting or rolling bait has been the ticket to get these early run fish. A little rain is forecast for Wednesday and Thursday. We are going to finish out our week on the lower Trinity then head over to the smith for the weekend and the first part of next week. The best thing about this time of year up to mid January is the fishing pressure is usually pretty light. The upper Trinity continues to have a lot of pressure mostly fly fishermen hooking hatchery fish from Junction city to Lewiston. Once the winter storms move in and the water colors up its harder for them to see the fly's and the fishing pressure will drop off. Thanks Tim King

Current Report: Trinity River, Smith river.

With no rain over the weekend the rivers have dropped back down to fishable levels. The Smith should fish good all week for salmon and some early run steelhead. There are light showers forecast for Tuesday but no big storms in sight. The Trinity is in good shape the upper river is a little cold and the steelhead are a little lethargic. The lower river still has some good color to it and should fish good all week. Just a reminder to book your winter run steelhead trips on the Smith Trinity and the Eel.Thanks Tim King

Current Report: Trinity River, Smith river.

All the north coast rivers blew out overnight as a big pacific storm dumped a ton of rain on the coastal rivers . We are headed back over to the Trinity to fish the upper sections where there is still some good conditions. This big push of water will pull some more early run steelhead into the rivers. The Smith should be back to fishable levels in a couple of days and the upper Trinity is still fishable now. Thanks Tim King

Current Report: Trinity River, Smith river.

The Smith is in great shape and some nice salmon are being caught. On Sunday we went 2 for 4 to about 30 pounds. Monday we had a great day we hooked 7 fish including a really nice steelhead unfortunately the fish were a little to hot and we only landed 2 The fish in the picture weight out at 47lbs at the scale in Hiouchi.  On Tuesday the river had really came up over night and the visibility was really poor and we ended up with a goose egg for the day. Today the river is perfect with a really nice shade of green and with a few showers in the forecast it should remain in great condition for the next few days. Over on the Trinity it has been really cold we received about 5 inches of snow in the Weaverville area. The river is in good shape and should continue to fish good all week.  Thanks  Tim King

Current Report: Trinity River, Smith river.

The Smith is on the rise from the last rain storm and more rain is forecast for the coming week. This is a perfect  time to get in on some salmon action for these huge kings. The Trinity is in good shape and should have some good fresh fish moving in with the recent rains . We will be on the Smith and the Trinity this week. Thanks  Tim King

Current Report: Trinity River, Smith river.

We had a little problem on our last Trip. Some punk kids ran off with my drift boat trailer while we where fishing.  All it took was a hammer or a river rock to break the lock and it was gone. Luckily i was able to get a trailer on short notice and get the boat out of the river in about 15 minutes. I have been fishing this section of river for quite a few years and never had had a problem, but a few of the other guides had. I guess it was my turn. We now have secured some private property to park our trucks on to make sure this doesn't happen again. The fishing continues to be good on the Trinity for steelhead . The river is loaded with half pounders  and some nice adults to about 10 pounds. Same old story over on the Smith more rain is needed. There are a few fish in the deeper holes but the low and clear conditions is making fishing very tough. There is some rain forecast for latter in the week. Lets hope in is a good one. We are taking the rest of the week off to spend with my family and friends . I hope you have a nice Thanksgiving. We will be back on the river on Saturday. Just a reminder to book your steelhead trips. We will be fishing all the north coast river for steelies. Most of our trips will be on the Smith or the Trinity. We have teamed up with some of the top guides to be able to take large groups or just two persons. But you need to book early for the most availability.    Thanks  Tim King

Date:  Wednesday Thursday  November 16 17,  2005  at 5:00 am
Current Report: Trinity, Smith river.

The action on the Trinity continues to be great. We have been fly fishing for steelies the last two days and had great success. We try and stay away from the bobber or indicator fishing and use the traditional method of catching them on the swing . We landed over 15 fish on both days a combination of adults and half pound steelhead. The Trinity is gin clear and is slowly dropping we really need some rain soon to help keep things going. The Smith is low and clear and we plan on staying on the Trinity until the coast gets another good shot of rain.  Thanks  Tim King

Date: Tuesday November 15,  2005  at 6:00 pm
Current Report:  The Trinity is fishing great!

We hammered the fish today The action was nonstop all day . We could have caught more but why. We landed over 30 fish today a mixture of adults and big half pounders. It was a little tough to get by all the half pounders to get at the adults the river is just full of them and I don't mean smolts. We ended up with 7 adults that we landed and we lost 2 others that spit the hook. The weather looks clear for the week we really could use some more rain. The Trinity is in good shape but a little too clear. The Smith has been dropping fast since the last rain on Sunday and needs a good shot of rain to bring some more salmon up.  Thanks  Tim King

Current Report: Trinity, Smith river.

We have been fishing for king salmon over on the beautiful Smith river for the last week. On Wednesday we hooked 5 fish and landed none. The fishing was good we just could not keep them on the line so we could net them. On Thursday we had 2 boats on the river. We hooked 7 and landed 1 the second boat was 2 for 5. On Friday we had a tough day the river had drooped back to clear conditions I think we only had two bites all day and we did not land any fish. The second boat landed one and the third boat had 0. On Saturday we had 3 boats out again .We only had two bites all day and we landed both fish the second boat had 0 and the third boat had 1. The Smith is back on the rise after some nice rain on Sunday and should fish good for the next few days. The Trinity is in good shape and we will be out steelhead fishing from Tuesday to Friday  I still have the weekend available at this time. Thanks  Tim King

Date: Tuesday November 8  2005  at 5:00 am
Current Report: Trinity, Smith river.

The Trinity is in great shape after the recent rains. The fishing continues to be good here. You can expect some nice steelhead to 10 pounds. We  have been catching 4 to 10 fish per trip. The Smith is falling back into prime shape. The fishing the last few days has been ok and things should really improve as the water level drops. We will be on the Smith for the next week. Thanks  Tim King

Date: Sunday November 6  2005  at 5:00 am
Current Report: Trinity, Smith river.

We have been fishing down low on the Trinity for steelhead. There is a lot more water and the river has been in perfect shape the last few days. We hooked 6 adults and a bunch of half pounders on my last trip. We caught all the fish side drifting roe and a orange fish pill. The rain arrived last night and is supposed to stay with us for the next few days. The Trinity side has not received to much rain as of yet we are seeing a small rise in the flows. Over on the hill the and to the north all the rivers are rising fast. The lower Klamath is out as is the Smith. Take a look at the graphs at the top of my page the Smith has peaked for now just above 21,000 cfs that is just a little below monitor stage for flooding on the lower river. When it drops back down it should be in prime shape for salmon fishing and a few early run steelhead. We will probably head over to the Smith to get in on the last big salmon run in the State. Thanks  Tim King

Date: Thursday November 3  2005  at 7:30 pm
Current Report: Weather

Just a quick up date. The rain has been pounding the north coast and the interior mountains all day. The ground is now saturated  and all the creeks are running. The Smith has gone from 600 cfs to 12,000 cfs in just half a day and is still rising. All the north coast rivers are rising . The Trinity is up a little and will continue to rise overnight. This will bring in more fish from the ocean. The forecast calls for more rain over the next few days which will slowly let the rivers recede .  l in there full dark colors ready to spawn .  Thanks Tim King

Date: Wednesday November 2  2005  at 9:30 pm
Current Report:  Sacramento Trinity

The last two days we have been over on the Sacramento river. We backed bounced roe pulled plugs and drifted bait.  We caught some salmon that where just a little to dark to keep and they all went back in the river. Every afternoon we switch over to trout and steelhead fishing side drifting small pieces of eggs with a fish pill and we did really good landing some nice trout both days. We will be back out on the Trinity over the weekend for steelhead. The weather picture looks great we are supposed to get hammered  with rain for the next few days. The smith should see a significant rise and the salmon bite up river will hopefully finally start to happen. The lower trinity should rise also and will help out the steelhead fishing. The Trinity river hatchery has pretty much got all there fall fish in the box and as soon as they update there numbers the upper Trinity above Indian creek will reopen to salmon fishing. The bad part is its to late to catch any fish worth keeping the are all in there full dark colors ready to spawn .  Thanks Tim King

Current Report:  steelhead fishing

For the last few days we have been rounding up cows to take down to the auction yard in Red buff.   We are heading over to the Sacramento river tomorrow for some late run kings. We plan on fishing for two days there then we will be back on the Trinity at the end of the week for steelhead. The weather picture looks good with rain forecast for Tuesday through Friday which is just what we need. The smith got a good shot of rain at the end of the week and came up a little bit but has since dropped back down to around 550 cfs. The rain that is in the forecast should bring in more fresh fish for the smith and help the bite out on the Trinity. Thanks Tim King

Current Report: A little better steelhead fishing

On Thursday we fished the Trinity for steelhead down around the middle of the river. We had a decent day landing 5 of the 7 adult fish we hooked we also landed quite a few half pounders . When the half pounders are in the river it always seem like you have a good day of fishing these fish are a blast to catch with light tackle, and they seem to always catch some mega air. We had a few doubles of these smaller fish and it was fun trying to keep the lines from crossing. The Smith still has some salmon down in the estuary below the 101 bridge. It has been raining in Smith river and on the Trinity side most of the night but it is a very light rain . The rivers are seeing a slight rise but not enough to really help the Smith get the fish moving up river. The light rain sometimes helps the bite on the fish that are already in the river.  Today and tomorrow  may be a good days to be out  fishing. The weather looks clear for the next few days.     Thanks Tim King

Current Report:    Trinity Smith

The start of winter is finally arriving. We had some light rain falling all night here in Douglas city all of which just soaked up into the dry ground. Over on the Smith we did see a little rise in the river flows. It has gone from 300 cfs to 550 at this time. With more rain forecast for the next few days the Smith will be fishing good for the last run of salmon in the state. The Trinity is giving up some nice steelhead  with salmon fishing all but over. I have a some openings on both rivers depending on which species of fish you are interested in.  Thanks Tim King

Date: Monday October 24 2005  at 6:00 am
Current Report:    Trinity, Smith

The fishing on the Trinity for steelhead is ok over the weekend  we had mixed results. On Saturday we had a great day fishing the group from Palco . We hooked and landed a lot of steelhead 4 or 5 adults and about 10 half pounders and one dark salmon. On Sunday we fly fished the same water and struggled all day we ended up landing 2 adults and a few half pounders for the day. The Smith is starting to see a few salmon move into the estuary but the upper river is still closed due to the low flow closures. We really need some rain to have better fishing conditions  on both rivers.  There is some rain forecast for this week starting Tuesday night. Thanks Tim King

Date: Wednesday October 19 2005  at 6:00 pm
Current Report:    Trinity Smith Sacramento

Today we fished the Trinity in the middle section of the river we had the whole river to ourselves we hooked 7 steelhead and 2 spent salmon that we released. The water level is a little low and will remain so till we get some significant rain fall it is a little higher than it was at this time last year .  If your looking for salmon the best bet is the Sacramento river . The smith has a few fish milling around down in the estuary but it really needs some rain to bring in more fish.  The weather picture looks clear for the rest of the week. It time to book your steelhead trips for the coming months if your not on our books already. We will be fishing the Smith Trinity and the Eel as always we will go where the fishing is best on your day of fishing. We have boats available on all rivers at this time. Thanks Tim King

Date: Monday October 17 2005  at 4:00 am
Current Report:    Trinity Smith Sacramento

The salmon fishing on the Trinity for quality fish is all but over. Most of the fish  are dark and good for the smoker. The steelhead fishing is pretty good depending on which section of river you are fishing. The flows are down to 350 cfs . The smith got a good shot of rain over the weekend and the first wave of salmon are down in the estuary below the hwy 101 bridge. The Sacramento is still seeing some nice fish move through and the fishing is still pretty good here also. For the rest of October and November we will be fishing for steelhead on the Trinity and Salmon fishing on the Smith and Sacramento. The weather is supposed to be good all week with the next chance of rain coming in on Friday.  Thanks Tim King

Date: Tuesday October 11 2005  at 7:00 pm
Current Report:   Hunting Time

This last week we have not been fishing. We moved our boats back over to the Trinity. I had scheduled a few days off to move and I cancelled a few trips for the Klamath due to the slower fishing for kings.  We took a few days to get my horses back in shape and catch up on a few chores around the house. After a few more days of deer hunting I will be back out on the Trinity. The reports have just been ok from here with a few fish being caught on plugs and roe . The steelhead fishing should really start to pick up in November on the Trinity and the salmon fishing on the Smith will go as soon as we get our first shot of good rain. Thanks Tim King

Date: Sunday October 2 2005  at 9:00 pm
Current Report:  The Klamath  is still giving up a few nice fish

The fishing on the Klamath in the lower river is starting to slow down. We are not seeing the fresh runs of fish push up from the ocean each day. Fish can still be found by running up to the higher holes above Johnson's bar. We are headed over to the Trinity to fish for kings and steelhead for the next month or so till the Smith starts gets some rain for the start of the salmon season there. Thanks Tim King

Current Report:  The Klamath is going strong

Just a quick up date. The fishing continues to be great on the Klamath. There are very few people out fishing. We are hooking around 20 fish a day of salmon steelhead and silvers.. Thanks Tim King

Date: Tuesday September 27 2005  at 9:00 pm
Current Report:  The fishing is great on the Klamath

The fishing continues to be very good on the Klamath for kings silvers and steelhead. The fish are sitting in the holes up river and continue to come in from the ocean on the lower runs. Double digit scores are pretty common on most boats. We caught some nice adult salmon jacks and silvers today . Our landing ratio was pretty poor today  we hooked over 15 fish but only landed 7 or 8.  Thanks Tim King

Date: Sunday September 25 2005  at 7:00 pm
Current Report:  The Klamath  fishing continues to be  very good

The last few days the fishing has remained good on the Klamath. Today some more fresh fish came in and all the guide boats had really good scores. We landed 10 adults 7 jacks and 2 steelhead. Most of the fish we caught were around 12 to 15 pounds.  The fishing will remain good through October Thanks Tim King

Date: Wednesday September 21 2005  at 7:00 pm
Current Report:   Good  fishing on the Klamath!

The fishing remains good on the Klamath and the Trinity rivers. Most of the boats today ran high up the river to get there fish we stayed behind and had the lower river mostly to ourselves. We picked them of one by one at all the usual places and ended up with some really nice adults and jacks we did not catch any steelhead or silvers today.  Its still not to late to get in on the fishing it will be good through October.  Thanks Tim King

ate: Monday September 19 2005  at 9:00 pm
Current Report:  The Klamath is giving up some big fish!

What a great day of fishing we had today. We landed 10 fish  with 2 fisherman on board. A combination of jacks ,steelhead, silver salmon and king salmon. We landed two big fish today one around 35 and one around 45 pounds. I will have the pictures up in a few days.  We hooked all of them side drifting bait on 8 pound test in fast moving water in two of my favorite places Starwein and Cleveland . Most of the boats had really good scores and there are still  a lot more to come . The silvers are just now starting to show and we will be  seeing more of these heading into October. They fight a lot like a steelhead and are fun to catch and release. The half pounders have all moved out and are making there way up the Trinity and the Klamath. The boat pressure is down to nothing and you can pretty much fish by yourself if you like. Troy gave me a fishing report from the Trinity saying the bite was on in Douglas city for a couple of hours. He landed some nice salmon and a jack bank fishing over the weekend. There are fish from the mouth of the Klamath all the way up the Trinity now. We still have a few openings in October on the Klamath or the Trinity. Thanks Tim King

Current Report:  Klamath  Trinity report

More fish are pushing in. The last few days we have had good and bad days fishing. The steelhead action continues to be good we are landing some nice adults and a few half pounders everyday.  There some nice jacks coming in also they seem to be on the bite everyday. The adult salmon bite is up and down our best day has been 15 fish and our worse day we landed 2. The  Trinity is picking up with some good salmon and steelhead numbers most of the fish are traveling really fast up the river it should fish really good during October and November. The Smith should start to see some big salmon showing up in November also.  Thanks Tim King

Date: Wednesday September 14 2005  at 10:00 pm
Current Report:  Klamath still rocking

The fishing continues to be pretty good on the Klamath and the Trinity is picking up steam. The fresh fish keep coming in from the ocean . We caught some really nice Hatchery steelhead that we kept a few jacks and we released the adult salmon to continue up river to spawn. The bite was on this morning in starwein and as we moved up river we hit a few other hot spots . The bite was a little slow as the wind picked up in the afternoon. More fish are coming in to the system on every tide and the fishing will be good through October. Thanks Tim King

Current Report:  Klamath  Fish rolling in from the ocean

The fishing on the Klamath continues to get better with more fish coming in from the ocean. We did not fish today but the reports from the guides that were out was really good . Most had easy limits with some more big fish caught along with some super jacks and some nice steelhead. The Klamath is the only river that you can catch fresh fish right out of the ocean land some nice steelhead and a few jacks this time of year. We still have a few days open and the fishing will be good through October . Fly fishing for steelhead and silver salmon in October is really good. I think I have my camera fixed so we should have some nice pictures from tomorrows trip . This page takes a long tome to load but the up side is you really get to see the type of fish and how fresh they are that we are catching. Thanks Tim King

Date: Tuesday September 6 2005  at 7:00 pm
Current Report:  Klamath is really starting to go

Today was probably the best bite we have seen so far this year. Most of the boats on the water had a good day.  The bite started just above the boat ramp and the fish were spread out all the way up to Stroump. A big push of fish had come in over night. Some really nice 5 years olds in the 40 to 45 pound range where landed and released today and a bunch of steelhead and now we have super jacks. These jacks are all cookie cutter in size right at the 22 inch mark and are shaped like a fat football they pull line like a 20 pounder  its nice to see the jack counts going up. We landed 7 adult salmon a bunch of steelhead and 3 super jacks. We also lost a lot more we just couldn't get a good hook set on some of the fish . The sea lions have moved back up river following the salmon its pretty loud in the glen at night with the Indians blasting away at them. It all adds to your fishing trip you wont find this kind of action any where but here. The fishing will continue to get better as more fish move up from the ocean. Thanks Tim King

Date: Monday September 5 2005  at 7:00 pm
Current Report:  Lots of boat traffic this weekend

The last few days have been a challenge to get our fish with all the big weekend boat traffic and a slow bite we just did not do very well. Today things started to turn around we got our adult salmon and we landed 5 nice steelhead but could not find any jacks. With fewer boats on the river this week i think we will do ok . There are still lots of steelhead mixed in with the salmon. My pictures of the fish we caught in the morning did not come out but here are a few from this afternoon. Thanks Tim King

Date: Thursday September 1 2005  at 5:00 pm
Current Report: Decent fishing today

The bite started out slow but we finally found our fish. We had limits of adults but we were short on our jacks. Looks like we are now starting to see some ok numbers of fish in the rivers you just have to be patience or really go hunting for a good bite. Thanks Tim King

Current Report:  WE did not fish today

Here is a run down on the rivers . The people that guide in northern California is a pretty small group of guys that do it full time and we all travel and stay in pretty close contact with each other. So its pretty easy to find out what's going on in the different rivers plus the years of fishing you know where the fishing is best at that time of year. The steelhead that where here on the Klamath during July have pushed up river to the upper Klamath or headed up the Trinity. I talked to Vicky over on the Trinity and see saw a few boats out most will  be catching steelhead and a few early salmon that flew up the river. The upper Klamath is Wally Johnson's  back yard where he will be after he leaves the lower Klamath. The Trinity usually fishes good from late September into late October for salmon and early run steelhead.  The Sacramento has been slow for what has been predicted this year but it will turn on soon and we should see good numbers of fish pick up real soon you can fish this river till late in the year as the kings just keep coming. The Klamath fished pretty good today with some nice salmon and steelhead caught by the few boats that went out today. We  like to stay here a little later than most guides we fish here through October. The fishing pressure pretty much goes away during late September and we have the whole river to ourselves which is pretty hard to find these days with all the people in California. We will be fishing almost every day from here on out so check back and see how we are doing. We still have a few open days if your interested in fishing. Thanks Tim King

Current Report:  A nice day on the river

What a beautiful  day on the Klamath. The sun was out early and the temperature hit the high 70 degrees mark and the fishing was pretty good .Again we started out in starwein and got our first fish. After moving up river we  struggled for a while then we moved again and got in to a nice bite we had 7 drifts in a row where we hooked fish. We ended up with 5 salmon 2 steelhead and 1 jack. We released all the salmon to go up river and spawn and kept the hatchery steelies for the barbeque. The  releases from the Trinity showed up today and the river is up about a foot or so and it also cooled off a few degrees I would think that this will help bring in a few more fish from the ocean. They are only doing this for 3 days and hopefully the fish will hole up for a while when the flows drop and we will have great fishing into October.  I still have September 16th available it a Friday and some openings in October , November we will be on the Trinity salmon and steelhead fishing from  my drift boat. Thanks Tim

Current Report:  Better fishing today

The day got off to a good start we hooked our first salmon in starwein and it was a good one. We worked our way up river getting a few fish at some different holes. We landed a few steelhead but had a hard time finding any jacks today. Every body had there limit of adults by noon. The winds have been picking up and making for some difficult fishing pretty early the last few days. Hopefully we will see some cooler weather to help keep the winds down. I had a cancellation for September 16 17 give me a call or e mail if your interested Thanks Tim King

Current Report:  A few salmon and steelhead to be caught

We did a little better today we landed some real nice adult steelhead  2 adult salmon a few jacks and some half pounders. Most of the fish are concentrated in one area and there is  only a few boats  out on the water making the fishing ok. The Indians had a good day down at the mouth with there nets so we should expect to see more fish push up river soon. The Trinity river is on the rise to send down some more water this will make the fishing difficult over there for the next few days but the first wave of steelhead and salmon will push up to the lower trinity with the higher water the steelhead fishing should really start to pick up over there in the next few days and the salmon will be right behind them. Thanks Tim King

Current Report:  Tough bite on salmon

The salmon fishing was slow for us today we just could not put the sticks to them today. There are still some nice steelhead around to mix things up a bit. On Thursday the salmon fishing was good me and Wally nailed them in the morning and called it a day at 8 o'clock. The fishing over on the Trinity should start to pick up real soon as the first group of steelhead and salmon have already pushed up and should be moving through the lower Trinity. They are going to raise the river for a few days and we should see continued good fishing after that. Thanks Tim King

Current Report: The Klamath mouth is fishing good

We started out our day by heading down to the mouth on a outgoing tide. We were the only boat there. After we dropped our lines in we had our first fish in about 5 minutes. The next fish we had  got hammered by a sea lion and snapped our leader right in two, after getting 4 fish in about an hour and a half we headed up river to look for jacks and some steelies. We hooked a few till we found a nice hatchery female and a few jacks. The river is in great shape and there are quite a few fish around to be caught.  Thanks Tim King

Current Report:  Better fishing today

We had a really nice day of fishing on the Klamath. The day started out a little slow but we worked our way up to Johnson's bar and back and ended up with a pretty good day. We landed some really nice adult salmon to about 25 pounds we got some nice jacks for the barbeque and a few nice steelhead and at the end of the day we got in to a bunch of half  pounders in the Klamath glen area. At one point in starwein we had on a nice size salmon, and every time we got it near the boat we could see a bunch of other salmon swimming along side following the hooked fish. The sea lions are still a problem and are following the fish up river as they leave the estuary. The Indians are not allowed to net 2 days a week and this was one of them the river is basically empty with very few boats out fishing. We saw a really big bear and lots of eagles golden and bald on our trip today. Thanks Tim King

Current Report:  More fish starting to move up river

Today we decided to just fish up river and not go down to the mouth. We landed 4 jacks  4 steelhead  and we hooked 2 adult salmon that we lost right at the boat. The fishing down at the mouth has been good the last few days with more salmon moving into the estuary as the tides change directions. This is usually about the time of year when the salmon will start to make there move up  the river. Thanks Tim King

Current Report: A  Quick  update

The nets above the Klamath glen area got a few fish last night. Some over 20 pounds.  Thanks Tim King

Current Report:  Sea lions hammering the fish

When you see hundreds of sea lions in the mouth and swimming around the lower Klamath its a sure bet the fish are there some where. The fishing at the mouth was decent yesterday if you could keep your fish away from the sea lions. They are all over them as soon as you hook in to one. What we are really doing is trolling for a salmon so we can troll for a sea lion. Its actually pretty fun with all the action that comes from this type of fishing. The river is really clear right now and the native Americans are having a real hard time getting any fish in there nets and the guides are out fishing them every day from the boats. The steelhead fishing is just ok you can find a few fish if you hunt around in the morning fishing all the riffles up to blue creek. A few jacks have also been caught up river to help round out the fishing in the mornings. The surf perch fishing has been really good and so has the ling cod and black bass just out side Klamath and crescent city.  There are lots of fish to catch and the fishing will be good through late October. Thanks Tim King

Current Report:   Larger fish starting to show

Down at the mouth on the Klamath some big fish are starting to show. On Monday a 37 pounder was caught and Sunday a 35 pounder. Up river the fly bite was a little tough for steelhead fishing with only a few fish being caught. It seems like more fish are now starting to stage down at the mouth and a few are starting to run up river. We should start to see the first big push of fish sometime soon. Thanks Tim King

Current Report:   Klamath  river

The last few days we have had some good days and tougher fishing days but we have caught fish every day. Yesterday the steelhead fishing was pretty good in the morning we had a couple of 8 year olds and there dads out and everybody landed some nice steelies . We then headed down to the mouth for some salmon fishing but we were a little late getting down there and most of the fish had already been caught earlier in the morning. There are a few salmon starting to head up river and quite a few steelhead too. We will be switching over from targeting the kings down at the mouth to drift fishing for them up river soon. The fly fishing is still good and the best time is during the week when there is less pressure we did see a few caught on flies over the weekend.  Thanks Tim King

Current Report:   Klamath  Estuary is giving up some nice Kings

Down at the mouth this morning the bite was a little slow we picked up a couple of kings before we quit around noon.  There are a few fish starting to move up river the orchard starwein and blue creek have a few salmon moving through them now and things will really pick up in a couple of weeks up there. Thanks Tim King

Current Report:   Lots of summer steelhead and the mouth is back on

The summer steelhead run is in full swing. The up river areas have a decent amount of fish from 6 to 14 pounds. We did a fly fishing trip today mostly working the area around blue creek. We ended up hooking into 5 nice adult steelhead  fishing the traditional method on the swing. The mouth has come back on with most boats landing 3 to 5 fish and a few steelhead mixed in. We will be back down at the mouth tomorrow targeting the kings as they come in from the ocean. the weather has been absolutely beautiful in the high 70s .Thanks Tim King

Current Report:   Klamath  Estuary is giving up some nice Kings

A slow bite down at the mouth this morning. But the afternoon tide fished a little better. We ended up with 2 nice king salmon to about 15lbs for the day for 2 anglers. The steelhead  fishing is still pretty good up river with scores of 2 to 8 fish being caught. There have been a few early runners of salmon starting to make there way up river to the Klamath Glen area but not enough to really target them yet. Thanks Tim King

Current Report:   Klamath  Estuary is giving up some nice Kings

Today we headed up to blue creek for steelhead fishing but the harbor seals beat us there. They had pretty much scattered out most of the steelhead.  We decided to go and try some salmon fishing at the mouth of the Klamath. The ocean swell was really high today making it imposable for the fish to get over the break and into the river. after a few hours of nothing we called it a day. On Tuesday me and Wally fished together on a play trip and landed a couple of nice salmon . The Klamath is still fishing good the conditions were just bad today. We will be back out on the Klamath on Monday i will be on The Trinity for one day over the weekend. Thanks Tim King

Date: Sunday July 31 2005 at 5:00 PM
Current Report:   Klamath  salmon

The bite was a little tougher today. There was lots of fish but very few biters we were fishing right at the mouth just in side the break where we could watch the fish pour in from the ocean. We landed 2 fish one 15lbs salmon and a flounder. Up river the steelhead bite was decent with some nice fish caught side drifting bait.  The valley rivers continue to be slow the fish are late coming in on the Sacramento and the feather rivers this year hopefully they will turn on soon.  Over on the Trinity it is still very slow the few boats that where out over the weekend mostly had skunks on board and a few boats had  1 fish. Its over on the Trinity till mid September.  The Klamath continues to be the best place to fish with fresh salmon and steelhead coming in daily. Thanks Tim King

Current Report:  Steelhead and salmon

The Klamath had a decent bite down at the mouth on Saturday for salmon and we also caught one nice steelhead. Up river the steelhead action was also pretty good a good friend of mine Kipster caught and released 10 steelies from 6 to 10 lbs. Thanks Tim King

Current Report:   Klamath  Estuary is giving up some nice Kings

The Klamath estuary is fishing really good for this early in the season. The fish caught today where from 8 to 15 pounds. Most of the guide boats are trolling spinners down at the mouth. There are a few nets in  the river and the Indians are starting to get a few also . Hopefully the bite will stay on for the next few weeks and we will have a really good start to the salmon season. Thanks Tim King

Date: Thursday July 28 2005 at 5:00 PM
Current Report:   Klamath  fishing pretty good

The Klamath is fishing pretty good. The mouth is the place to be to land some nice chrome king salmon. Every body is getting easy limits of kings as the tides move in and out. Most boats are landing 5 or 6 fish on the incoming tide. The steelhead fishing has been fantastic when the bite has been on and very slow on some days its kind of a hit it right and you can catch 20 summer steelies and if its a bad day 3 or 4. Thanks Tim King

Current Report:  Dead Slow on the Trinity

.The Trinity is pretty much done for spring salmon fishing. On our last trip we caught one fish. The other boats on the same drift got skunked. The counts coming through the department of fish and game weir are about 3 to 5  fish every couple of days. There are a few fish to be caught way up high in the Lewiston area but the fish are pretty dark. We are headed over to the Klamath tomorrow and i will have a report from there on Thursday we plan on doing some fly fishing and bait tossing for the summer run steelhead and target the Kings down at the mouth. The Sacramento river stills remains slow and with the current heat wave  coastal steelhead fishing will be a lot more fun. Thanks Tim King

Date: Sunday July 24 2005 at 6:00 PM
Current Report:   A few fish around

.The Trinity remains pretty slow for salmon fishing. Most boats are hooking a couple of fish and landing a few in the upper sections above Del Loma. The lower river is to hot to hold any fish now that the flows have dropped back down to the summer levels. The water temperature is up to about 74 degrees in Hoopa. The Sacramento also remains slow for salmon fishing the counts coming through the fish ladder are down from last year at this time . We will be running a few more salmon trips on the Trinity and then head over to the Klamath to get in on the summer run steelhead action. There are also a few kings being caught down in the estuary on the outgoing tides. The best action has come slow trolling spinners or sardines. Thanks Tim King

Date: Wednesday July 20 2005 at 4:00 PM
Current Report:   Tough fishing

The fish are here but they just are not Biting. We can see lots of fish rolling and moving up the river during the day getting them on the hook is an other story. The river has dropped  a lot the last few days and the smaller it gets the more effect the lowering will have on the fish. I would expect that once the water levels out the bite will come back on. Thanks Tim King.

Current Report:   Bad hair day

Some days you just want to pull your hair out. I had two new fishermen on board that had not been out fishing in about 20 years. After having some really good days I was really expecting the same on this trip. We put our lines in the water and in about 8 seconds we had our first fish. A really nice chromer about 20 pounds. Unfortunately that was the  only fish that made it to the net for the rest of the day. We had a few other bites but we just didn't get them. Thanks Tim King

Current Report:  The Fishing  remains excellent !!

.The Trinity continues to be the Place to be for spring salmon with the Klamath right behind. Today also was the opener on the Sacramento river below the red bluff diversion dam it was a zoo as always with some nice fish caught  under a ton of fishing pressure. Things will calm down on the Sacramento in the next few days and we should start to see a ton more fish move up in August and September. The Klamath is having one off its best spring seasons ever. We hope the springers will continue right up till the fall fish come in some time in August. The Trinity gave up a lot of fish today every boat i talked to had limits and lots of bank fishermen where catching them too. The best bite today was on roe. The weather remains extremely hot on the Trinity registering over 100 degrees in the afternoons. The weather over on the Klamath is a lot cooler in the high 70,s. The water continues to drop on the Klamath and the Trinity and will hit the summer flow of 450cfs soon.   Thanks Tim

Current Report:  The Fishing is excellent on the Trinity

We knew that the salmon would arrive and now they have. Better late than never. We are seeing fresh fish in every hole. The salmon are rolling and moving up the river in big pods of fish.  The scores are now way up . I heard of some scores as high as 15 fish hooked down in the canyon below Douglas City. We did a quick float from steelbridge rd in Douglas city down and landed 4 nice fish in about 2 hours of fishing The best way to catch them is back trolling a k15 kwickfish in silver and green. The flows continue to drop and are now down to about a 1000cfs. Look for the fishing to remain good for the coming weeks. The weather continues to be hot hovering right around a 100 degrees. The Klamath still has some springers coming in but the numbers are slowing down just a little . The summer run steelhead bite should be turning on real soon on the lower river a few of them have already started to show up. I still a few dates open for these trips you can fly fish or bait fish. This time of year the water is about as clear as it gets right now. Later in the year the moss will grow out and start to break off causing the fly  fishing to be a little more difficult. The steelhead run about 4 to 10 lbs on these trips. I have a few dates left for the fall season on the lower Klamath from August 15th to October 15th. We will be targeting salmon and steelhead on these combo trips. Thanks Tim King

Date: Tuesday July 12 2005 at 5:00 PM
Current Report:  The Fishing is holding steady

Today we had a pretty good day of springer salmon fishing. We landed 3 of the 5 fish that we hooked. The fish where a little smaller than I would have liked to keep. Running around 10 lbs the big ones seem to be able to use the fast currents to avoid being landed. The flows are down to 1300 cfs and dropping every day. We fished up high trying to avoid the higher flows of the lower stretches where there are more creeks adding water. The whole system now has fish and should continue to fish good for the next few weeks. Thanks Tim

Current Report:   Fishing getting better

The fishing is improving on the Trinity and the Klamath is still going strong with springers and summer run steelhead. I ran in to Gary farley over in Klamath glen and he had just landed 4 salmon for his clients to about 25 pounds. Tommy from little rays tackle box was heading out for some summer steelhead fishing . Over on the Trinity the flows are down to 1700 cfs and the fishing is picking up depending on which drift you were on over the weekend. The best fishing was in the canyon below Douglas city or up above from Douglas city down.  Mike  went 5 for 7 on salmon to about 17 lbs on this drift and one steelhead. The flows are dropping fast and with more fish pushing up from the Klamath the Trinity will really start to turn on.  I still have a few days open for our Klamath trips from mid August into October we will be targeting salmon and steelhead on these trips. If you have never fished the Klamath it some thing you should really try. The fish come in from the ocean and go on a mission to get to there spawning grounds eating and destroying any thing that gets in there way. Unlike most river fishing where the fish are light bitters the Klamath salmon and steelhead just inhale it. Being fresh from the ocean on that day that you chose to fish they are fresh and full of fight if you have never caught a steelhead or salmon right out of the ocean determined to spawn up river you are missing out. The wildlife that lines the river is fantastic bears eagles wild horses and no roads . The lower 40 miles or river is only accessible by Jet boat. Check out my last years fishing report to see what you could be catching.  Thanks Tim

Date: Wednesday July 6 2005 at 8:00 PM
Current Report: The  fishing is picking up  with the flows dropping

The flows are now in a downward trend and on there way back to the summer flow of 450cfs. You can really see the difference a few hundred cfs makes . The fishing will be in high gear with more fish and less water for them to hold in.   Thanks Tim King

Date: Monday July 4 2005 at 4:00 PM
Current Report: The  fishing is picking up but not red hot Yet

Most of the guides and a few bank fisherman started to pick up fish this weekend. It all started on Friday. We started to see a few fish moving when we where drifting down the river these where the first salmon we had seen all year. We ended up 1 for 2 on Friday and 2 for 2 on Saturday.  We did see a few fish caught at the swimming hole in Junction city from the bank. The numbers of fish caught will really start to improve in the coming weeks as more fish move up and the water flows slowly drop back down. Thanks Tim King

Date: Wednesday June 29 2005 at 5:00 PM
Current Report:  Still slow fishing

The Trinity is starting to give up a few fish in the upper river we did see one boat with a fish and heard of another one caught in a different area.  Still pretty poor fishing. We did not have any luck again today but things will turn on real soon. The lower Klamath has been giving up some nice salmon the last few weeks and its just a matter of time till they hit the Trinity in full force. The weather has been pretty nice just topping out around 90 in the afternoons. Please be cautious of the high flows for this time of year the Trinity is still high and very swift. The bureau of reclamations has bought some more water to send down the Trinity for the fall run, if the water temperatures get to high . The reason for the low quota this year is because of the fish kill that occurred  3 years ago when they shut off the flow of water and killed all the fish. Thanks Tim King

Date: Tuesday June 28 2005 at 6:00 PM
Current Report:

I have been getting a lot of calls about the new fishing regulations on the Klamath and Trinity rivers. The new supplement is out. You can pick one up and check out the new regulations. They really are not that complicated. I will go over some of the high points here. The Quota is 1262 adult salmon for the whole Klamath and Trinity rivers. It is allocated to different areas of the rivers. The lower Klamath will be closed to the take of adult salmon on Tuesdays and Wednesdays starting August 15 until the quota is met usually in early September. The lower Trinity will closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays starting September 1  and the upper trinity will start on September 15th until the quota is met. The daily  bag limit is one adult two jacks and one hatchery steelhead. You can not keep more than 2 adult salmon in a 7 day period. Once the adult quota is met we will be catching and releasing the big fish and keeping the jacks and hatchery steelhead. Each person could possibly still take home  3 fish on a one day trip or 6 fish for two days of fishing. Last year we caught a lot of jacks and hatchery steelhead on our trips hopefully this year will be the same. If you have any more questions just give me a call or an email and i will try and answer them. The fishing will be picking up real soon and you can still keep the adults for now. Thanks Tim King

Date: Monday June 26 2005 at 6:00 PM
Current Report:

The Trinity is still slow. The fish just have not shown up yet in any kind of numbers that make it worth while to go fishing . The only places where people are consistently catching them still from the bank down below the falls.  By this time last year there was a lot more fish in the river . I am sure things will pick up soon. Thanks Tim King

Date: Tuesday June 21 2005 at 6:00 PM
Current Report:

The Klamath and Trinity rivers are dropping back into shape . There still have not been very many salmon caught above the falls on the Trinity side. The lower Trinity below the south fork is still pretty high but should drop below the 17 foot mark in the next few days and be fishable. I think we will start to see the numbers of fish caught pick up this weekend. Your best bets will be the deeper holes below some major white water where the fish will be more concentrated as they wait to move up.   Thanks Tim King

Date: Saturday June 17 2005 at 6:00 PM
Current Report:

The Klamath and Trinity rivers are on the rise. We have seen a really unusually amount of rain for this time of year over the last few days. The weather looks good for the coming week . I expect the fishing to start to pick up real soon. Thanks Tim King

Date: Wednesday June 15 2005 at 3:00 PM
Current Report:

The Trinity will be holding its current level for a few more weeks. The higher flows are making it easier for the fish to swim up over the falls on the lower river .We are looking for this to be a really good spring season. The fish kill that occurred 3 years ago on the lower Klamath did not affect the spring run of fish. The fishing should be in full swing by next week as more fish push up the Trinity. The forecast is calling for rain for the next few days with unseasonable cool temperatures for the next week. Thanks Tim King

Date: Monday June 13 2005 at 3:00 PM
Current Report:

The fishing has picked up on the lower Klamath the last few days with some decent numbers of fish moving in. The lower Trinity is also picking up with the first run of spring salmon making there way up the river. The best bets have been down below Burnt ranch falls or Grays falls. The biggest fish landed was a nice 28lbs female caught yesterday at Grays falls. The fishing should be in full swing by next week as more fish push up the Trinity. Thanks Tim King

Date: Monday June 6 2005 at 5:30 PM
Current Report:

The Trinity is now down to 2000cfs in the Douglas city area. This is about the upper level to be able to fish on the upper sections. You can fish down low, but it is a anchor up and sit and wait for the fish to come to you . The Klamath is still running very high for this time of year the fishing there should really start to pick up steam from here on out . We will start or springer trips in a few more days.  Thanks Tim King

Date: Wednesday June 1 2005 at 5:00 PM
Current Report:

The Trinity is still dropping  and is getting close to fishable levels in the upper sections above the south fork. The Klamath is now starting to put up some good numbers of spring salmon in spite of the high flows. The Sacramento river will be opening to salmon season in July.  Its time to book those salmon trips.  Thanks Tim King

Date: Monday May 30 2005 at 5:00 PM
Current Report:

The Trinity opened this weekend for Salmon season. The flows are still pretty high.  It is still a little early for the salmon in this river. The fishing should start to pick up in about two weeks on the Trinity side . The Klamath is starting to give up a few fish there were a few boats out this weekend and a few nice fish where landed. Thanks. Tim King

Current Report:

Not much fishing has been happening on the north coast. The Trinity has been having record releases for this time of year which in turn has made the lower Klamath big and dirty. The warm temperatures have started the snow to melt adding to the Klamath problems . We will be out fishing as soon as the conditions improve. Thanks Tim King

With Steelhead season all but over the Smith is high The Trinity and Klamath are all blown out .We will be heading over to do some Striper fishing on the Sacramento in the Colusa area. Right now the Sacramento is also blown out. These last storms have dropped some significant rain fall from the coast and in to the Redding area. The river has jumped from 44 feet to over 77 feet in the last few days. This will help bring the Sturgeon up in to the rivers to spawn and the stripers will be right behind them as soon as the water temperature starts to rise.    Thanks Tim King

The Lower Trinity is still in great shape. The South fork of the Trinity up around Hyampon  is loaded with nice wild steelhead. The Hot weather had caused the river to be on a slow rise and it has a nice emerald green color to it. We have been bouncing around all over on the Trinity fishing in Douglas city Hyampom and in Hoopa. The best fishing has been down low we have been catching a few up run adults and a few down runners and a bunch of half pounders. Check out the picture of the chrome bright half pounders. They are really fun to catch. Right now I have the 23 or 24 open. Thanks Tim King

Current Report:

The fishing on the Smith has been tough the last few days. Today we got 2 steelhead and I felt pretty lucky to get them. Most of the scores were very low or no fish at all. The river is holding at about 7 to 8 feet on the gauge.  We are going to fish here one  more day and then head over to the Trinity were the fishing has been much better. The Eel is going to be back in by Monday and the Klamath is also fishing good on the lower river. Giving up some good numbers of adults and half pounders. The  Smith really needs a big storm to bring in some rain and get the flows higher and some color to the water. All the other rivers are in good shape and no rain is needed from the Klamath south. Thanks Tim King

Current Report:

We have been fishing on the Smith the last few days. The river is still low and clear but is giving up a few fish. On our last trip we went 3 for 4 all up run fish no downers. There is some rain forecast for tonight hopefully it will raise the river level. The Klamath is fishing great. This last storm colored up the river pretty good and a lot of adults and half pounders are being caught. The lower Trinity is also giving up some good numbers of fish as they move up from the Klamath . The fishing will continue to be good in the coming weeks especially if we get some significant rain fall. Thanks Tim King

We have had a big party on the Klamath for the last few days. We had a group of 6 anglers for the last 2 days. These guys came prepared to party and fish all day and that is what we did . We could have been a great commercial for Coors light we had a total of 8 people on board we me and my deck hand and 2 big ice chest full of beer. We boondoggled or side drifted 7 rods at a time . They had bets on the biggest the smallest and the most fish. There was a lot of money on the line. We had doubles and triples of fish landed. Almost all of our fish were half pounders but we managed to land a few nice adults each day for the money winners. I also had one boat working on the Smith over the weekend and with all the pressure from the derby and the low clear conditions they managed to land one nice steelhead each day. Its is raining here on Sunday night. This  will  bring some much needed rain  to the north coast and we should see all the rivers improve over the next week. Thanks Tim King

Current Report:

Things have been pretty hectic this week sorry for the delay in my fishing reports. We have been attending the fish and game meetings in Eureka to get more fish for the recreational fishermen on the Klamath river. The Smith remains low and clear with really low scores per boat. We have been fishing the Lower Klamath in my Jet boat and have been averaging 4 or 5 adults per trip with a ton of half pounders. The Trinity is fishing good also on the lower runs around Willow creek you can expect around 5 to 10 adults with a bunch of half pounders to keep you reeling in fish all day. Thanks Tim King

The fishing On the Trinity and the Klamath has been good the last few days. The Trinity was on the rise over the weekend but is now falling and should drop right back down to great fishing conditions. The Smith is still low and clear and could use a big rain storm to get it in optimum shape. Over the weekend the perk derby was held and around 30 fish were landed for about 60 boats not to bad considering all the pressure that was there. I have a few days open in March that typically have better weather and great steelhead fishing.  Thanks Tim King

Thursday we Fly fished the upper Trinity river and we got into  2 nice steelhead. On Friday we switched back to bait. The fishing was pretty good for us we hooked 5 adults and landed 4 . The biggest about 10 lbs. All the fish were caught side drifting roe. We also landed a bunch of half pounders. The river is in great shape from Lewiston to the Klamath. It is raining here Friday afternoon but I don't think it will be enough to hurt the Trinity or help out the Smith. Thanks Tim King

Current Report:

The fishing was a little slow on  the Trinity for us on Monday. With the rain that we received the river was a little too colored up for optimum conditions. Things started to pick back up today. The river was tightening up and clearing fast all day. Most of our fish we got today where caught on roe and a fish pill. We pulled plugs for a while but never had a take down.  The Eel is out from the rain that came in on Sunday. Look for the south fork to clear up in a few days above Benbow. Murray  Wolfe and a few other guides have been fishing the Klamath from there jets the last few days with some pretty good results. The Smith has not received any rain and is still low and clear. making for extremely tough fishing. The Perk Derby is this weekend and about 60 boats should be on the water. We really need some more rain on the Smith to get things going.  Check out the picture from the 12th.  I am holding a big buck that still has a pink fish pill on his upper lip you can order these from Mad river outfitters on my links page. Thanks Tim King

The Trinity has been on fire for us over the last few days. We have landed over 10 adults on every trip and a ton of half ponders. On Thursday and Friday there was only one other boat with us on the river . The size of the fish have been real big for the Trinity. Check out the pictures below. I still have a few dates left open in March. Thanks Tim King

Current Report:

On Monday I attended the fish and game closed door meetings on the Klamath. We are still working on getting more fish for the recreational Anglers and taking them away from the Off shore troll fisheries.  We can't report on the numbers yet that they are offering but let's just say there will be no season past labor day. The Trinity is still fishing good. We had a nice day today without any boats on our drift and no bank anglers. We had a little problem landing the fish that we hooked. Rob was a steelhead virgin until today. We hooked 4 but only managed to get one in the net. Murray Wolfe has been running trips for us over on the Eel and has been landing around 6 to 8 fish per trip. The Smith is low and clear making for extremely tough conditions. There is just a little rain forecast for this weekend but it probably won't be enough to hurt the Eel or help the Smith. Thanks Tim King

Current Report:

The Smith remains low and clear. The last two days there has been very little boat pressure on the river. Today we landed two nice steelhead, one 10 pound, and a nice 14 pound fish. We are headed to Sacramento for a fish and game commission meeting on Monday to try and come up with a plan for the sport fishing allocations on the Klamath and Trinity rivers for the next five years. We are going to fish the Trinity starting Tuesday until we receive some rain on the Smith. The Eel is fishing well and we have some prime dates available on this river with Murray Wolf and the Walrus working out of the guide house in Garberville.  The Trinity is in great shape and has very little pressure on it . The whole river is fishable from Lewiston to Weitchepic. The south fork is also in for those who like solitude try fishing in Hyampon. We can still get you in on steelhead fishing on your river of choice on all the north coast rivers .Thanks Tim

The fishing was  little better today on the Smith river. We hooked 3 and landed 1. The river is still low and clear and badly in need of some rain. The weather was nice today with mostly overcast skies. which it think helped pick up the scores today. The boat pressure was pretty light with most guides fishing on the Oregon side.  Thanks Tim King

What a difference a day can make . The Trinity has been tightening up the last 2 days. On Sunday we struggled going 3  for 6 we just could not seem to make the hook sets we needed to land the fish. On Monday the river was in perfect shape on the stretch of river that I have been fishing. I have been on this same piece of water for the last few days and today it all came together for us. We had a great day. We hooked 10 steelhead and landed 7 . I think the next few days it will continue to produce some good numbers . The fish were caught side drifting  roe and a few on plugs. Thanks Tim King
